Root  & Rock  Studio is the work of Rosalind Lambert-Porter, an independent nature artist based in Suffolk, England.  Inspired by a lifelong fascination with the natural world and traditional fine art, Ros creates richly detailed paintings that celebrate the beauty, character and wonder of nature.  

Each artwork begins with careful observation, building layers of colour and light to create pieces that feel timeless and deeply connected to nature. You are invited to reconnect with childlike wonder at first encountering our beautiful and magical natural world.

Why Root & Rock Studio?

Root & Rock Studio grew from a belief that nature doesn't need embellishment to be extraordinary.  The calm curve of a sleeping fox, the watchful gaze of an owl, or the changing light across a woodland can be every bit as captivating as the dramatic.

The work is inspired by the landscapes and wildlife of Britain, but it is guided more by feeling than by geography.  Each painting is intended to evoke a sense of wonder and connection - bringing a small piece of the magic of the natural world into everyday life.  

Root & Rock Studio is founded on a commitment to the protection of the natural world.  As the studio grows, the intention is to support wildlife conservation and habitat restoration through carefully chosen partnerships and initiatives, using art not only to inspire an appreciation of nature, but to contribute to its preservation.

Working from a studio in Suffolk, England, every artwork begins as a traditional painting, created slowly by hand using professional artists' materials.  Whether you choose an original, a limited edition print or a greeting card, the aim is always the same: to create something timeless that invites you to pause for a moment.
